Right guys, If I was to give you £1260 (including VAT) excluding shipping + scansure to spend and build a PC from www.scan.co.uk What build would you make? Please tell me below as I'm debating like crazy with people and thought I'd get some builds from you guys, if mine are similar, means it's good :)

I'm going to be gaming on a single monitor but possibly in the future have an extra one hooked up. I'll be mostly gaming at times but also surfing the net, photoshopping and video editing (last two things are rare). I want it to be good looking yet a performance beast, lets see what you can come up with :)

I'd also preferably like a full tower case.

My Gaming Rig;  Motherboard - ASUS Maximus VI Hero | CPU - Intel i5 4670k @4.5Ghz 1.25v | GPU - GIGABYTE GTX 980 @Stock | RAM -  16GB Corsair Vengeance @1866Mhz | CPU Cooler - Corsair H100i | Storage #1 - Samsung 840 Basic 250GB SSD | Storage #2 - Sandisk II 480GB SSD | Storage #3 - 2TB 7200rpm 64mb HDDPSU - Corsair HX750 | Case - Fractal Design R4 |

It would be nice if you put some effort into deciding which parts you want.

This should also be in the New Builds and Planning section.

What do you mean deciding what parts I want, I said, you guys go out and make a build. I just want to compare what I'm going to order to what you guys come up with..

And my bad.

To be honest a single 7970 will do the job just fine but what the heck.

Great build but I think that soon prices of 7990 will drop in UK as they did in usa recently so that might be something to consider.

As to the actual build if not overclocking enthusiast, I would grab Xeon e3-1230v3 instead of i5. That is i7 4770 without iGPU.

So... If Jesus had the gold, would he buy himself out instead of waiting 3 days for the respawn?

It's ok I guess, my build would perform almost 2 times better in games and give you much higher quality audio...

i would go with a 4770k instead of a 4670k because you did say you wanted to do some videoediting

Case: Phanteks Evolve X with ITX mount  cpu: Ryzen 3900X 4.35ghz all cores Motherboard: MSI X570 Unify gpu: EVGA 1070 SC  psu: Phanteks revolt x 1200W Memory: 64GB Kingston Hyper X oc'd to 3600mhz ssd: Sabrent Rocket 4.0 1TB ITX System CPU: 4670k  Motherboard: some cheap asus h87 Ram: 16gb corsair vengeance 1600mhz

Interesting! I did not know that! For some reason the 7990 unsettles me.

We are talking about 7990 for 700$. That makes me want it even tho I preffer nvidia.

I'm not trying to take anything away from the 7990 nor am I disregarding that that is an amazing offer. I'm just saying that something about the 7990 unsettles me.

Oh sure same here. Maybe it's terrible crossfire that has been nightmare and is just being fixed right now? Idk.

I just preffer Nvidia. Something about premium feel of GeForce. You get 780 into your hands once and you don't step back i guess. It's so freakin awesome, you can almost feel the power 780/Titan wield :D

Even if it is delusional compared to what Maxwell will bring in da house ;D

Well i hope you like cool looking and the kind Military theme build all in an m-atx rig with a beautiful Corsair 350D case with side window.

note: no monitor / mouse / keyboard / o/s included, if you need all this just say and i will have to thin down the spec.

Its also  under bugdet, just enough for some case lighing :)

Also note i selected 2 very good 140 fans for front intake and 120's for top exhaust, then the CPU cooler on the back exhaust (120) plus a SSD for O/S and a hybrid for games etc.

enjoy....

pretty good, but you spent all the budget on graphics cards :P

you got to leave some money for a cooler, case fans etc.

I realized this after I posted this and face-palmed!

Take the second 7970 off, which in reality isn't necessary for this build and this should be fine.

This I like!

Thank you, i don't know if the customer likes this kinda theme or wants a m-atx build so i thought i would add it just so its different, and thought about the colour scheme with the Noctua fans and Gryphon m/board then some red memory modules to give it a cool and clean small build within the spec budget.

I like your choice to.. and thanks for seeing i wasn't having a go at your thread, i was just pointing out the small things the customer might need, heck i know most people don't bother with an optical drive but i thought this is a nice all in one little work station / media / gamer for the cost the customer wanted.

I sure hopes we get some more awesome ideas to compare.

got to love Asus components
