I would like to know if it is possible to add an additional Nvidia GPU to my system and reserve it for PhysX.

My current configuration is as follows:

3930k CPU

Asus Rampage IV Extreme Motherboard

2 x Titan X's in SLI in Surround mode (3 monitors)

I would like to add a 3rd card just for physx and double precision math.  Is it possible to add say a Titan Z and reserve it for physx use?

Desired configuration:

2 x Titan X's in SLI

1 x Titan Z (reserved for PhysX)

Does this configuration even work as the cards are not matched?  I wouldn't be adding the 3rd card to the SLI setup.  Any advice would be appreciated.

The Titan Z is a dual GPU card. This means that PhysX will only run on one of the GPUs - in addition, PhysX doesn't offer any performance increases when using a dedicated card. And because the Titan Z is a dual GPU card, in order to use both GPUs on one task, you must have SLI enabled. However, you may not have your Titan X's in SLI and your Titan Z in SLI at the same time.
