I have a Corsair PSU and a 970, the coil wine is quite bad and I heard Corsair PSUs are not the best for it. Before I go out and get another one, is this whats causing my problem?

Are you sure it's the GPU making the noise?

I don't like 2D games...I just couldn't get into them.. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

In the video linus did about coil whine, he said that different psu's can reduce it, however I have not seen any concrete proof...

Try fiddling around with the voltages to see if it goes away. does it only happen under load? or during high fps?

It's basically a lottery, sometimes you will get one that will whine others of even the same brand and model won't make any noise, it can also be the combination of PSU or GPU's that can also cause the issue or make the GPU whine more or less. There are known units to have whine such as the AX series from Corsair which I own one and haven't heard a thing from thankfully.

Yes, some capacitor whine.

Only during heavy load.

Allright. That type of coilwhine is hard to get rid of, as it has to do with power components on the gpu physically resonating due to the current going through them (not the technical definition, but you get the point)

Due to that fact, overclocking/ getting the card to use more or less power may alter the resonance frequency, getting it to be quieter.

In my experience, playing around with the volts did not really make a difference, and my card makes roughly the same noise under load that it did on stock clocks/ volts...
