Choosing PSU

Go to solution Solved by STRMfrmXMN,

Hello everyone! ^^

I am planning to build a new PC  :)

Yes, I've read guide, but there are still some questions left)

I have veeery strict budget, so there is my config:

i5-4590

MSI R9 380 (yep, I'll try some OC)

MSI Z97-G45 Mobo

8 GB RAM

1 WD Black 1 TB

3-4 fans + cpu cooler fan

some LED strips to put in case

maybe some expansion cards later like more usb, wifi, or SSD or second HDD or sth els.

Also, as I mentioned before I have very tight budget, so I will be upgrading this rig later. For example, maybe I'll put i7 there after several years (4th or 5th gen, K-version)

The one thing left for now is PSU.

Will 600W will be enough for that?

Or 500W will be OK? (having in mind 380 OC and i7 OC later)

And what about this PSU? AeroCool KCAS 600W

I can spend around 50 euro on psu. Prices are according to this site:

http://www.skytech.l...=1&pagesize=100

Also, I know, that It's hard to guarantee that *this PSU* is good. So is it a good idea to look at its weight?  :D It means that PSU has larger heatsink and more reliable components, right?

Help me pls  :)

^^"""

Check out the PSU whitelist in my sig. Also, no, the weight of a PSU is not an effective means of measuring how good it is. A Corsair RM weighs more than an EVGA GS and the EVGA is better.

I think you should not buy the led strips and the additional fans and get a better PSU, because is the heart of your system if the psu fails can fuck up all the component, buy a PSU from a good brand like Evga, Corsair, Cooler master, 600W will be more than enough. You can get an evga 650W GS for around 95€, it's 80+gold and you will be safe.

You can put fans and led later on.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.
