Slow Wifi, need help

I have 100/100 internet and I am getting that with ethernet but wireless on 5ghz im only getting 40ish and on 2.4ghz im getting 10-20ish, any ideas why and how can i fix this. My router is a Asus Black diamond Rt-N56U. How can i fix this and I prefer to keep my SSID hidden also.

router is in my room and mt parents laptops are located elsewhere, so yes.

Try the wifi when sitting next to the router and no other devices are wirelessly connected to it. Then introduce interference and walls.

It may be the problem.

 

Try to use the device near the router and check the speeds.

If they are good, then it's your walls blocking the signals and speed.

Try to place the router somewhere near your computer/mobile device.

The laptops are scattered around the house.

I try to use my phone directly next to the router and it's kinda weird, my phone is a LG G2 , it connects then disconnects

Also check your Wifi-surrounding, maybe your access point is on the same channel as a lot of your neighbours are. That will slow down your wi-fi and decrease the range.

Try a Wifi-Analyzer app for your smartphone maybe, that should give you some information about that stuff...

I have InSSIder  and i changed my wifi channel to get the best possbile meta score.

In that case the problems are walls and distance- there's nothing to do...

Any logs on the router/AP? Maybe there is something wrong with it...

Unfortunately im not familiar with Asus routers, maybe someone else can help? I took a look into the manual, but there is nothing mentioned...
