So yeah, I'm looking to build my first PC and as I already know a fair amount about PC gaming I want to jump in around the mid range market. I was just wondering if someone could point out any incompatibilities within my selected core components (case, CPU, GPU, RAM, power supply, hard drive, motherboard), mainly between my GPU and motherboard. Here's a list of the components I mentioned:

Case: BitFenix Neos ATX Case (Black)

CPU: AMD FX 6300 Six-Core 3.5Ghz Processor

Motherboard: Gigabyte 970A-DS3P AMD 970 Motherboard (Socket AM3+, DDR3, S-ATA 600, ATX, PCI Express 2.0 x16, USB 3.0)

GPU: Gigabyte Nvidia Gtx 960 Windforce 2 OC (GV-N960WF2OC-2GD)

RAM: HyperX Fury 8GB (2x 4GB) DDR3 1866 Mhz CL10 DIMM

HDD: WD 1TB 3.5 Inch (Caviar Blue)

Power Supply: EVGA 500B 500W 80+ Bronze

Thanks for the help. This PC is made for 1080p gaming at high settings at 40-60fps (I don't care too much about 60fps since I don't play competitive games on PC much) while recording and a bit of editing (hence the 6-core CPU). If you have any suggestions for upgrades that would be fine (I know I need other stuff but I am focusing on the core components at the moment). These parts as of 24/08/2015 add up to £426.70 and I don't want to exceed more than £450 on these parts (or the whole PC if possible).

it'll be okay, but your options for upgrading the platform will be severely limited. I'd say save up for an Intel platform if you want to have a good upgrade path. It'll only be another couple hundred pounds.

Again, I'll look into that. I always knew that in terms of upgrades I'd really only be limited to other AMD FX6 or FX8 processors however.

exactly. The 8350 is not that much better than the 6300 unless you're using all threads maxed out. In other applications they are no different. You'll be better served by an Intel platform. Even going to Sandy Bridge is a great upgrade.

Thanks I'll look into the 600W version. Do you know if all of the parts I picked will work fine together?

also, look into a silver quality PSU, so you get more power efficiency and shit
