Hello everyone,

I was at my aunt's house last night when she asked me to look at here pc. She said it is really slow and if there is no option to speed it up.

I wen't upstairs and discoverd it was just old, spec's: Intel Pentium Dual Core E2140, 1gb ram, 80gb HDD, intel gma 950, vista hp 32 bit.

Now I have a few spare parts lying arround and I am not using them.

I can build here an Intel Pentium Dual Core G860, 4gb ram, 120gb SSD, ati hd 5570, windows 7 64 bit ultimate.

So my questions, wil this be a good upgrade? She is using the pc for surfing, mails and skype.

Greetz Thomas

you can even scrap the HD 5570 or probably sell that and get another 4GB RAM

not necesarry if she's not into gaming.

Intel HD on that GPU perfectly capable to deliver 3D performance with reasonable setting, and fine for 2D streaming, or flash games.

5570 is the lowest series for 128-bit card on retail, 5550 I believe only released for OEM

and there's 5450 64-bit.

5570 overall consume about the same like GT440/630

anyway it doesn't really matter even with OEM 300w PSU (I've even use it on 250w dell PSU)

It is even a passive cooled card so no problem.

Only one other thing, windows 10 is a problem, I have a few pc's in my home whit also 6 series chipsets and they all have boot freezing problems under windows 10.

The pc's whit 7 series chipsets don't have the problem. The 6 series can only be updatet to intel rst 12.9 and that is the problem, because when I use 12.9 on the 7 series it also crashes. I use 13.1 on the 7 series and all the problems are over. So is there anybody whit the same problems on h61/h67/p67/z68?

Great upgrade and you can even put a core 2 quad in her old hp if you wanted and more ram, that would cost little to nothing :)

A shadowy flight into the dangerous world of a man who does not exist.

Core 4 Quad Not Extreme, only available on LGA 557 at your local Circuit City
