I really like Nova, it's quick, easy and very customize-able.

When I use Nova my notification pulldown is really choppy, just like the Cyanogen launcher. I have no idea why but it doesn't happen on other launchers

Have you tried turning it off and on again?

What phone do you have? It's running perfectly smoothly on my phone.

I love action launcher, it's different in the sense that in stead of having a button to access your app drawer, you just swipe from the left side of the screen and get a list. However it lacks the customization options of the nova launcher and trebuchet launcher featured in cyanogen.

LG Optimus 4X

It shouldn't be choppy at all, especially with the spec of your phone. Something isn't right.

nova runs very smoothly, but it's just when i pull down the notification screen. The pull down process is very choppy and the notification bar isn't smooth as it drops down. This ONLY happens when I am on the Nova launcher home screen. When I swipe down in any other apps, it is buttery smooth.

Have you tried turning it off and on again?

I have a similar problem on my Transformer tablet running Paranoid Android with Nova, but it's very smooth on my S3 running PA. Nova is the best in terms of features, closely followed by Apex. I find Apex to be a slightly less fluid experience though. You can try other launchers like Go or ADW, the only way to know which performs the best on your phone is to try them.
