I have a TP-Link TL-PA2010, purchased last week. Three times now, my internet from it has cut off and unplugging the receiving end from the wall and plugging it back in is what fixes it. The lights are normal on the device itself, so it's seemingly randomly deciding to hate me.

I haven't installed the firmware for the device on my PC, but what the heck is that going to do for me? It's obviously an issue with the device itself. I've seen threads on the internet that this is apparently a "common" issue, but all the reviews on amazon for it are great. I'm not sure what to do at this point. I would rather not return it.

Are you plugging the unit directly into the wall on both ends and is the wiring in the home really old, the reliability and speed of powerline mainly depends on the integrity of the electrical system.

Yes, it is directly connected, and no, the wiring is not old. That said, both ends are on the bottom socket of a wall outlet where the other socket is being heavily used, if that has anything to do with anything.

The socket being heavily used shouldn't be a problem as long as the devices don't feed a lot of noise back into the electrical circuit, only thing I can really think of is trying to unplug the unit for a few mins and try it in a different sockets to see if it's the location of the current units or there might be a problem with the unit itself.
