Monitor you temps i notice you are using a stock cooler, could be the CPU is getting to hot....

That kind of error i have seen when a CPU is overclocked and there isn't quite enough voltage to run the OC.

At 100% Usage (tested with prime95 1 hour) the max temp was 75°C. Thats not to hot.

Was this happening before you re-installed windows 7?

Are you overclocking using a software solution?

you might want to check that all drivers are upto date.....you also might want to do a virus scan....

Verifying windows files are intact too might be a good idea...........run scannow /sfc in command prompt...

have you manually set your graphic card's fan speed very low? i've seen this happen before where the GPU gets to hot.

also did you reassemble your computer or clean it?

Check if every cable is where it should be.

every cabel is where it has to be. the gpu is 70°C hot after 2 houers

does this happen in every game or just particular games?

do old games like half life, cs or others take longer time to crash or crash at all? and do games like crysis 3 or battlefield 3 crash very fast ?

is it just games installed on steam that crashes or all games?

i tested it with civ5 which a have in steam. And civ5 crashes after arround 5-15 min.

Minecraft does not crash after 1 hour of playing

  1. Try updating ALL drivers (GPU, chipset, audio, ...)

Try running 'scannow /sfc' in a command prompt with administrative rights

Try verifying the local game cache of the crashing game(s) in Steam

Try running 314.22 WHQL drivers, those are the only stable drivers for me recently

Try stress testing your system for 10 hours using AIDA64

  • 2 weeks later...

Try verifying the local cache. To do that:

  1. Open steam and go to your game library.
  2. Right click the affected game and select Properties
  3. Go to the tab Local Files
  4. Click on Verify the integrity of the game cache

It could be that the names in bold are a little different, because my Steam is not in English, but you should be able to find the right buttons ;)
