cpu usage

Hi, 

I have a i7-4770k CPU and it always worked great.

But since yesterday evening suddenly the cpu usage in my task manager is at a constant 90%+ usage and makes some games unplayable.

when I check what is using that much it seems that my GDATA anti-virus is using 20% and my user 40% (along with some other windows services)

 

Curently i'm running windows 10.

 

Does anyone know the cause of this CPU usage and how to fix it?

it's not scanning

when my antivirus does a scan it uses up alot of cpu so i must be doing it silently or its doing something

Stop the virus from scanning it's own files.

I seemed to have solved the issue. HTML5 video player seems to have been the culprit. Once I turned it off my cpu usage rarely spiked above 30%.

 Maybe worth a try.

MS Defender... usually works good and its free.

Super Anti Spyware as a backup on top of MSD is good too.

Stop the virus from scanning it's own files.

 

 

when my antivirus does a scan it uses up alot of cpu so i must be doing it silently or its doing something

by removing Gdata and installing bitdefender my CPU usage went down to 10%

I've had a virus that was hidden in the program files of Superantispywere

Then you are doing it wrong ._. 

I've used it for years and never run into an issue with it. The person that told me about it has used it for many years prior to that.
