I'm torn between the kraken and the swiftech cooler? At some point I'd like to add another 980 and water cool them. The h220x can expand? Why the 750d case? Just curious. Also is 32gb needed at this point? I'm open to more it was a cost thing.

Go swiftech if you want to expand later on

980ti SLI is better than 980(If you got the money)

The 750D is a professional looking, no nonsense metal full tower compared to the plastic 780t

It even costs less

If you really want something like 780t get the 760t or buy LED strips and add it to your case

The M6e is a 2 lane card. Samsung SM951 256GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive is less expensive and offers much better performance.

  1. added a faster cpu with the savings from the motherboard. your earlier mobo was too expensive
  2. added a better cpu cooling solution
  3. added a cheaper motherboard, which is still great
  4. slightly cheaper ram
  5. changed ssd to a better one
  6. changed hdd to a better one @ 7200 rpm
  7. i think you should play at 1440p and get another monitor
  8. your keyboard and optical drive are very expensive
  9. i would recommend a fractal case; the arc xl

The mobo CPU combo is intriguing. My last MSI board crapped out, so I went with Asus. It has a lot of fluff, but also some features I can use outside of gaming? I like the sm951 but at the expense of some performance I liked the native uefi support the Plextor offered. Also I love corsair rads but wanted expandability to water cool a pair of 980Ti's down the road. Everyone's input is awesome and makes me really rethink my choices, thank you!

Interesting choices. Based on my past replies (I'm lazy and don't want to repeat them?) explain your choices. I intend to do 1080p gaming and add multiple monitors. Also my video editing would be much easier with two or more? The cost of 144 monitors is still a bit high? Cases are an aesthetic I believe. I just like the looks?? Many of my videos are burnt to bluray, which is why I dumped some coin that direction. Thanks so much for your time and input! I would dearly love to hear the reasons for everyone's choices! :)

I really gave the 951 serious thought, but the native uefi support on the m6e was my draw? I gave up some performance for ease of install? Am I totally off base?

Only you can decide if the trade-off is worth it.
