So just to start off, I am looking to upgrade my gpu, I just bought a Inno3D GTX 680 2GB from a friend for 150 dollars and its gpu vram is totally underwhelming. I came from the EVGA GTX 760 SC ACX 4GB and I'm used to being able to exceed the 2048mb mark in GTA 5 without inducing lag. So I went researching and I've come to the conclusion that I'd wind up getting 1 of the following cards to supplement my vram requirements.

A. EVGA GTX 780 Ti 6GB

2. EVGA GTX 690 Signature Edition 4GB

Z. EVGA GTX Titan 6GB

Which one would anyone here suggest (I'm an enthusiast so i just cant stand low end new stuff might as well get cost effective high end old stuff off ebay)

My research has basically boiled down to the 690 but i want everyone's opinions. Whats funny is the fact that the 690 is pretty old tech in comparison to the titan and titan black but it still holds its own and even whips the titan in many games (Based on my research).

Are you only buying used?

If not, get a 980 or a cheaper r9 390.

Do you play on 1080p? If yes then GTX 680 2GB is more than enugh really. Even if the game says that it uses 3.5GB of VRAM and you have only 2GB it will run fine because it doesent say actual number that it will be using instead it says how much VRAM it could allocate. I had no problem runing that game on 50-60FPS mostly on ultra settings (advanced turned off) on my GTX 770 2GB which is basicaly the same card you have got.

BTW:

GTX 690 4GB = 2x GTX 680 2GB so you can still effectively use only 2GB if you go for it.

R9 390 would probably be the card you would want if you want a bucket load of vram for your games :).

if used then maybe you could find a R9 290, 690 is still a 2x2gb card, and i dont know how much the titan or 780ti will set you back.

Hey bro i like yo *vomits on you*
