So i was looking at a second hand computer for my brother and i found one with these parts:

~ Dual core AMD A4-4000 APU 3.0Ghz with Radeon HD 7480D GPU
~ Gigabyte GA-F2A88XM-D3H motherboard
~ 500W Enermax NAXN power supply
~ 4GB DDR3 RAM

I personally hate AMD, but this computer is being sold for $50 so i figured I'd ask the pros before purchasing PC with a gross AMD poo chip.

I checked out the board, it seams ok.. ish

The AMD chip sadly has to stay..

But i can add a gpu :)

Can I use, say, a 750ti or a 780? i can deal with a AMD poo chip, but a AMD poo GPU? I'd step on Lego before letting one of those into my house.

Any other stuff you think i should know about this system? LMK

You have it backwards... AMD for GPUs intel for CPUs... stand up to AMD gpus not CPUs...

as for bottlenecking an a4 will bottleneck the lowest end gpu you can find

Thats that. If you need to get in touch chances are you can find someone that knows me that can get in touch.

For 50$ its a steal. Even just for the base. You can easily upgrade that, and even get a new CPU and motherboard from intel if it bothers you that much before going over what a new PC would be.
