Watercooling items

My rig is in my sig

I would want to watercool (custom loop) but i have 0 idea what items to buy

And i know my case (spec 03) isnt made for WCing but a 240mm rad can fit ontop and a 120mm rad will fit at the rear just fine

A cpu/pump combo is probably a good idea too...

Anyone can help me choose parts out for WCing from here? (like rads, fittings, coolant etc)

http://www.xtremecooling-pc.com/

Or here

http://www.ztomiclab.com/

Thank you :)

The BBQ: i7-4770 / 212x / Tri-X R9 290x 1075/1400 / MSI H87-G43 GAMING / EVGA G2 850W / Corsair Spec 03 / Samsung 840 EVO 250gb SSD / Toshiba 2TB HDD / 8gb Kingston DDR3 1600mhz

Peripherals: G710+ / G502 / Bose Companion 2 Series III / Audio Technica ATH-M40x / Sound Magic E50

Something like a kit from EKWB XSPC, or Alphacool would be a good place to start, if your adding in a GPU to the loop however a 240mm rad would be the absolute recommended minimum.

Hmm what if i ordered this and a 240mm rad (with a 290x WB with like 4 more fittings)?

Is the res a 5.25 inch bay mounted res?

Wait. What is your budget? I have stuff i can recommend from talking to an EK employee.

Yeah that would give fairly good cooling and performance only thing I would note is the Alphacool DC-LT pump is a little loud something like a DDC or D5 would be better, and it is a 5.25" bay drive.

You would need 4 extra fittings, 2 for the extra rad and 2 more for the GPU block.

I would say i could stretch to about 600SGD...

So WCing in my case isnt just a dream right? :D

Im afraid that fitting a 120mm at the rear will block the 240mm at the top tho... It's a tight fit D:

If so since my CPU is a locked one could i just get away with a 240mm rad?

You might be able to ideally a better suited case or modify the case to fit a rad in the front would work well. The only thing is watercooling a locked CPU isn't encouraged since there is no real world benefit than a bit of temperature.

If you just want to cool your GPU more effectively ideally an AIO solution with a GPU bracket would give the best cooling for the lowest cost.

Hmmm then would a kraken g10 with an 120mm AIO do for a 290x?

Yeah that would give fairly good cooling espically a thick 120 or 140 unit.

Hmmm would i be able to go like full custom bios maxed voltage all that on an AIO? xD

I wanna WC mainly because of the experience tho....

Still kinda wanna go custom WC D:

Yes it should be able to handle the extra heat pretty well, but as Spwath said if you really want to do it and have the extra money it's your call. The AIO solution would be the best value.

Last question would a 240mm suffice for a heavily OCed and OVed 290x with a locked 4770?

Ideally a 360mm of total rad space would be best for nice low temps but if it's a thicker or high fin density rad it should suffice but might give slightly warmer temps.

In order to watercool you PC I would recomend getting this KIT - https://shop.ekwb.com/ek-kit-l360-r2-0

After that you only need to add a waterblock for your GPU and 2 fittings.

GPU Water block

https://shop.ekwb.com/ek-fc-titan-x-acetal-nickel

Fittings

https://shop.ekwb.com/ek-acf-fitting-10-16mm-nickel

How warm are we talking with an ambient of 32c?

Umm that would really depend on the overclock on the GPU, a bit hard to say I'm guessing maybe 55C with load, anyone else have input on that?

Actually, they do. They are located in the UK.

PS: You Need to change your water-block for your gpu. Those recommendation were based of a 900 series gpu

That's... Really low LOLOLOL Im having 81c load temps on a tri-x without voltage increase D:

Hmm.... I'll compare prices btwn EK and my local site... Many thanks! :)
