Help with crowdfunding

I've mostly been a lurker in the forum until now but something's come up and I wanted to see if there is someone with some crowdfunding experience that would be willing to give me a couple tips. I made this campaign http://gofundme.com/rh3tsaj8 and have been trying to get the word out through my social networks but even though I've got close to 1000 friends on facebook and a lot of people on twitter I can't seem to get a single donation. What am I doing wrong or what could I be doing better?

edit: not to be a dick or anyting, but if this happened to me, i would get more jobs outside of university so i could send money to her

Unfortunately getting more jobs is not possible since the government caps how much you can work with a student visa at 20 hours a week. But thanks anyways man.

ok, i found some things for you to do, which maybe will help you get it going

 

1. if you can, send stories to the local newspaper, radio, and TV stations, maybe the small ones have more chance of accepting it

2. maybe send an email to some small, or medium sized youtubers, ReviewtechUSA accepted a story of a kid who had cancer and needed some medical treatment, so maybe it will work for you, every email or letter you send gives you a chance to get attention

3. look so that you have tagged the fundpage correctely, so that people will find you

4. maybe post on other crowdfunding sites? altough this may go against the rules

5. maybe ask your closest friends to post to all thier friends will start a domino effect
