Steam os optimized and good?

jdmilion

so i have a laptop, its a bit of a potato

Had an intel HD3000

I use it mainly for csgo when im at school (my main rig at home is much much more powerful hahaha)

My question is; is steam OS good for intelHD graphics? Will i see any boost in performance from using steamOS as opposed to windows7? Have the issues with steamOS been fixed?

Again the only gaming i do on it is pretty much csgo at lunch and shit

Steam OS performs about as good as Debian, running Steam on top. Which is all it really is, you may see a little more performance if your system is strained for resources. But with the quality of a lot of Linux port don't expect anything life changing. May as well try it though, why not.
