Soo almost a year ago i wanted to upgrade my gpu, turned out psu wasn't strong enough so i got one aswell, then i found out that scumbag acer has special connections on mobo and psu so i had to bail on the idea of upgrading since i didn't have enough back then.

But now i have enough for a gtx 970, z97 mobo, cx600m and a nzxt case, but now i just dont know if i should upgrade now or wait for the next nvidea series?

Is the next series really worth waiting till beginning next year, since i really want to upgrade.

If you keep waiting you will never do it cause something new is always gonna come out. Now it a perfect time to upgrade with all the great options out.

I would do it now, since Nvidia's not in a hurry to upgrade to a new architecture since the competition isn't really that competitive.

I agree that a R9 390 would be a better choice than the 970 at this point...  that 8GB VRAM + slightly better performance make it very appealing.

For the Best builds and Price lists here is a world where many points of the price have been predefined already for your convenience!

The Xeon E3 1231 V3 IS BETTER Than the Core i5 4690K and a Significantly better value for the non-overclockers or value shoppers.

It's pretty competitive lol. It's pretty much a better value now in every bracket except $650+

Nvidia will be releasing their Pascal architecture in 2016, and it will feature a very large performance increase over current technology, as it is looking to serve 4K gaming's needs. The number of transistors are going up from 7 or 8 billion to 17 billion, and the onboard VRAM is going up to as high as 32 GB.

If you can, I advise waiting for Pascal GPUs to release.

Not competitive lol dude the R9 390 which is the AMD equal to the 970 is trading blows with a standard GTX 980 at anything above 1080p and at 1080p the 390 is beating the 970 a fair amount of the time and you can get one of the best 390's on the market for about the same price as a lower end 970 which is the Sapphire R9 390 at $310-330 depending on price at the specific time I got mine at launch for $315. In my honest opinion the 390 will outlive the 970 simply because of it having 8gb of VRAM vs 4gb. Yes I know not many games are even getting close to 4gb yet but who's to say they dont in the next 2 years that will be different which would make the 970 pretty much ancient vs the 390 will still be fairly relevant.

Plus who's to say when we start seeing DX12 games the AMD offerings will possibly get stronger.
