Yea.. I've actually never seen this version on sale before for this price plus free shipping.  I'm in Canada and these will cost $180 :( but for 50 bucks can't go too wrong, unless they are counterfeit haha

Gaming and HTPC (reparations)- ASUS 1080, MSI X99A SLI Plus, 5820k- 4.5GHz @ 1.25v, asetek based 360mm AIO, RM 1000x, 16GB memory, 750D with front USB 2.0 replaced with 3.0  ports, 2 250GB 850 EVOs in Raid 0 (why not, only has games on it), some hard drives

Screens- Acer preditor XB241H (1080p, 144Hz Gsync), LG 1080p ultrawide, (all mounted) directly wired to TV in other room

Stuff- k70 with reds, steel series rival, g13, full desk covering mouse mat

All parts black

Workstation(desk)- 3770k, 970 reference, 16GB of some crucial memory, a motherboard of some kind I don't remember, Micomsoft SC-512N1-L/DVI, CM Storm Trooper (It's got a handle, can you handle that?), 240mm Asetek based AIO, Crucial M550 256GB (upgrade soon), some hard drives, disc drives, and hot swap bays

I ordered , thanks OP. I really loved the sound signature on my 7506's, and I know these won't be exactly the same as some claim, but pretty close. 

I wanted to wait and get ath-m50xs when I felt comfortable blowing 106$ on headphones, but, I'm just too tried of using the pos headphones I have atm. 

I'll make these my carry around headphones once i get my m50xs....(I tell myslef that, but these are not really portable. Least they are wonderful for gaming)

Ha, yep these are a quality pair at a budget price hahaha, oh man do I want to order but I'm Canadian :angry: .  I would say that for music I would take these over a ath any day of the week.  I would agree about portability which is really the only downside.  Glad I could turn you on to the sale :D

I personally would take the m50xs any day having heard them, but there is a huge price difference.

Though 

I've lost A LOT of headphones to bad cords, especially coil cords. I grow tired of having to solder a new one on every time I break a connector or wear out a bend. My last pair of MDR-7506s went that way. Made a new connector and the cord went out in a week...my luck...and I think I gave them to someone else to fix and keep. So I really want the swappable cord on the m50xs.

The m50xs have more of a ....V curve slightly to me, as compared to the 7506s, which were flat with happy-crispy highs (I really love that sound for about anything other than metal or linus's painful voice) but I'm no making music or anything so the slight difference in sound doesn't bother me

i mean if you are going through the trouble of soldering new cables, you might as well just drill a small hole and solder on a 3.5mm jack. Its easy and if you do it right, very clean.

I'm considering it, seeing others have done it successfully, only problem is I need a new iron unless I can find a new tip for the really old one I've always used, so I probably wont do it right away.

Yeah finding tips is a pain. I made the mistake of buying a $25 garbage one temp iron. Shitty tips but thats the only choice I have. Also 25W.................................................

yah someone gave me this iron, it's a great one, but i think it's 25+ years old. 

I too have a garbage iron, but I don't dare use those on headphones.

new pads are cheap if you get them from the right place, and there's even other materials available.
