Windows 10 Auto Update for gamers

DeepRD

I am sick of auto update windows 10 because of the random lag caused when I am gaming! I am seriously considering reverting back to windows 10 because as a relatively competitive gamer, this instability is a pain. Anyone else agree?

Just set your connected to metered, will prevent it from auto downloading updates.

You're competitive on a 2MB/s connection? :P

Anyways, like I said, you can set your connect as "metered" and Windows instead of going through the hassle of reinstalling. It won't auto download updates until you say so.

How To:

Opening Settings

Network & Internet

"Advanced Options" button

"Set connection as Metered"

Solution:

Revert back to Win 7, get Win 7 Pro/Ultimate for cheap, go BACK to Windows 10 from that, because now you'll get the Pro version, which lets you control the updates.

I had Win 7 HP, bought a 13 dollar Win 8 Pro key one week prior to Win 10 rollout JUST for this reason.

oh please like windows update is going to hog SOOOO much cpu performance. Yeah right. Uses no more than 10% on my i7.

I don't like the fact that I can't select which updates to install and that it tries to update my graphics drivers.

Haven't tried that. Will read through it and try it. Thanks.
