Best CPU for Gaming?

If you have an answer, what motherboard is best with it?

 

 

EDIT: Like I said I had a few posts going out at a time. I had "Best Core i5 for Gaming" and I had "Best AMD CPU for Gaming." I think they were merged into this single post by someone. I didn't even change the name to "Best CPU for Gaming." PLEASE DISREGARD THE TITLE!!!! I ONLY want suggestions for Core i5s and anything AMD.

200 dollars or less for the CPU would be even more ideal if you want to be more specific.

An overclocked Intel Pentium G3258, save some bucks and get reasonable gaming performance.

FX-6300 or FX-6350 but make sure you get a 8+2 AM3+ board.

 

Or you can go overkill with the 9590 but the motherboards for those costs 200$...

Well... not going to lie, for gaming, Intel is the better option. In a game that mainly uses just 1-2 cores even an i3 can outperform a 9590. If you MUST go AMD then pick up an 8320. They overclock well IMO.

AMD Phenom II 980, if you can OC it a little. Or an FX8350.

 If you're strictly on a budget go for an Fx-6300 or even a Pentium G3258

 

If you can spend $130 or more go over to Intel

The best would be the 6600k.

But it's not necessary to go with a 6600k.

Usually the 4460 is what i recommend for a standard gaming build.

There isn't really a best in general. 6600K in terms of performance without spending extra on HT.

Buy a big glass of drink, and drink it through a coffee stir-stick!

 

Seriously. The g32 series should be a last resort, you bottleneck yourself unimaginably hard if you try to do more than two things at once. There are far better alternatives in the pricepoint. They may not give you that extra 5fps in poorly optimized games, but they allow you to game, AND stream music at the same time.

 

 

The best, all around cpu for gaming would have to be a tie between the 4690K and the Xeon 1231v3, the 4690k gives very marginally better performance in games, thanks to it's higher clock speed, but the Xeon allows you to have the power of an I7, just not overclockable. If money is seriously no problem, then fuck it. Get a 5960X and overclock it to 5ghz with a custom loop watercooler and 3 360mm rads.
