Bios flashing IS a thing - look on techpowerup's database of bioses. IIRC there was a rather high clocked Asus one. Just be careful if you don't have a bios switch :)

Assuming the little switch on the side of card is the bios switch?

If so, could it be as simple as using custom bios with the other bios?

Or has asus put some more "free" second bios to the card? :DD

I believe it's for switching to the 2nd bios IIRC.

After further investigation, i have come to the conclusion, this is the non -TOP model, the TOP model being better binned and higher clocked/r (925Mhz vs 1000Mhz base clock)

and the fact that i have really bad luck what it comes to silicon lottery :D

Edit; now i'm having a break with my lovely pitza

TOP cards are indeed better OCers since they have a higher base. Still, 1000/1500 is very respectable since 1500 memory is what SK Hynix have stated as the max for that memory and 1GHz is fine IMO.

Hmmm not yet, tried Battlefield 4 test range on ultra preset, getting these weird gpu utilization issue, where it drops to 30% and jumps back up, creating this 1-2 sec freeze time-.-

This was not an issue with 1000/1500 setting's

Edit#2 this just might be bf4's own issues

hmm, now the bf4 wont start again and battlelog says wait for the game to exit, no sign of orgin/bf4 in task manager :DDD this is starting to be an really twisted thread?

Set it to 1500 if you ask me. 250 GB/s is already overkill in terms of memory bandwidth for our cards.

hmm, now that the bf4 worked for once, no artifact's nor lag, on ultra ofc :D

seems stable for me, even on furmark no problemo

Btw, how long do you usually run furmark? It was once ran for 50 mins here and I'm scared it might have done damage :/

once i oc'd my core to 1000 i ran it for about 10mins? just to see the temperature's stable and no artif. etc, but after that i usually just play bf4 since it's more "real world" work load for gpu

Well if the temp's were not exceeding the limit's then no dmg done

Well the way i see it(kinda like), it's like driving older 'murica car and going to highway to test it at higher speed's to "clean" the motor :D

Hah, yeah, I guess. For 15 mins it got to about 74*C, not sure after that tho. Probably maxed out at 80*C.

Well, temps just probaply keep rising if your room isn't well ventalated and if you dont have proper airflow on your case :D

Btw 80 is perfectly safe from that kind of load :D

It was on an open case IIRC. I was most afraid since my VRM temps went up by 4*C right around that time but I'm not entirely sure it's done damage.

Might just be that the heat kinda messed with the heat pads (dont remember the real name now:D)

Oh, true, thermal pads might have gotten more than they can chew. But the card didn't do a thermal shutdown and I haven't noticed crashing/degraded performance and IIRC CCC detects furmark as a power virus and throttles it.
