Suggest a soundcard compatible with Linux?

Hello, so I purchased a Soundblaster ZxR back in January and just found out that it doesn't work in Linux. I need Linux for most of the programming work I do and music is definitely necessary for programming. Any advice on purchasing a comparable or better sound card that is compatible?

Thanks!

Look here :

Maybe here as well : http://www.linux-sound.org/drivers.html

And if you use Ubuntu : http://www.ubuntu.com/certification/catalog/ <- Probably the easiest to navigate

i5 4670k @ 4.2GHz (Coolermaster Hyper 212 Evo); ASrock Z87 EXTREME4; 8GB Kingston HyperX Beast DDR3 RAM @ 2133MHz; Asus DirectCU GTX 560; Super Flower Golden King 550 Platinum PSU;1TB Seagate Barracuda;Corsair 200r case.

You could very easily get a class 1 or class 2 external dac/amp. Linux natively supports class 1 and 2 USB audio devices, so you wouldn't even need to worry about it. Look at something like the schiit fulla, their magni/Modi stack, or an O2/ODAC combo from somewhere like mayflower electronics or jds labs, depending on your budget. Also, if your motherboard has optical out, the SMSL 793-II is what I currently use. All of those will work 100% with your computer, for sure!

Hey! New SIgnature!

I'm supposedly a person on the Internet, but you'll never know if I'm human or not ;)
