Hey guys. I am going to be going back to school soon (eh whatever). I like to listen to music on my phone a lot. My PC motherboard has a pretty good audio chip onboard. Because of this, basically every device sounds terrible compared to what I am used to. Can I do anything on my phone (equalizer, most likely) to fix this? Thanks.

Either your phone has a broken audio jack, you have fallen victim to the placebo effect, or you equate quality of sound with its loudness. That or you're lying [emoji14]

Nope, when I switched motherboards I noticed the difference instantly. I tried my backup laptop, my MacBook, and of course my phone. The sounds seem cloudy and washed out compared to my PC.

Again, probably placebo effect.

It's an ASUS X99 Pro. Wasn't a blind test but I listened to the same song and it was terrible on the other devices compared to the PC.

"Terrible"

 placebo

different is the right answer, just change the eq.

I could tell that there was a pretty big difference.

There shouldn't be a "big" dif, unless something is WRONG with the board.

make the volume is same, EQ is same.

This! There seriously isn't as bit a difference as you are making it out to be. Also, Asus doesn't even use very good audio hardware in the first place.

I know for a fact that there is a large difference, but you can believe that I am making it up. My board is one of their highest quality boards and the audio is much better than my old MSI board.

Depending on how old your msi board is, I would believe you on that. I'm also assuming that you have one of the retina macbook pros (or something from that era) and I'm assuming that you at least have an iPhone 4 or newer. If all of those assumptions are correct, and you're using the same files, and none of them have broken audio hardware, there will NOT be a difference, unless it's a difference of volume, which you still haven't really acknowledged. If everything was at the same volume (spl, not on volume) then there would not have been a difference through the same headphones. And you cannot argue that, because it's a fact. Asus does not use super good audio hardware. Their gear is on par with all of the other products I listed above. Also, when you pay more for a motherboard, other than a few features, you're paying for stability more than anything.

I'm an idiot, it's the combination of the Asus/Realtek software and Razer Synapse... I feel very stupid

No worries, figured it might be something like that.
