Two days ago I ordered myself a arcade fightstick from amazon. I found out that the cheapest option was buying it from the German amazon. It said that the product was new and that it was sold by Amazon.de. The stick arrived today, which was surprising because of the fact that the expected delivery date was 19 of august. I was happy to have the stick arrive so early, but I had one concern.

I was afraid of being given a used stick even though it says new on amazon. Fightsticks are quite expensive, and it's not cheap to have it sent back if something is wrong with it. I'm not sure as I have never used a fightstick before and I have never ordered anything from amazon before, but it seems like the product might actually be used. Here's a link to the store page: http://www.amazon.de/gp/offer-listing/B00SVG1E5K/ref=dp_olp_new?ie=UTF8&condition=new. The first thing i noticed was the tape on the box. This might be normal, but the tape had been cut. It seemed like someone had opened it before me. I simply ignored this and started opening the box with the stick. The stick looked completely new to begin with. Everything was in there, every accessory that follows and all. But then I looked closer. I then noticed that there were a lot of scratches all over the top of the stick. Since I have no experience with fightsticks, I have no clue how it's supposed to feel. I'm not used to it, so I'm not sure if it's used or I'm just not used to it. My brother says that the buttons feels like they have been used, but I have no clue. When I opened the thing I noticed some weird stuff on the inside too.

It's kind of hard to explain with words, so I made a album on imgur: http://imgur.com/a/IVamg#0. If the pictures don't show enough or are simply just bad, I'll happily take some new ones. It's a little bit harder to see on pictures, but I'm really not sure if this product is new or not. There's a lot more scratches than the pictures show. If you have any experience with fightsticks or from buying stuff on amazon, I would really like to hear what you have to say. I might be completely wrong, but I have to ask you just to be sure that I'm not crazy.

Edit: I should also add that the stick works when I plug it in. Tested it on USF4, and everything seems to be working fine. It's just the buttons and the stick that I don't know if they are in the condition they are supposed to be in.

Imgur link doesn't work..

possibility it was opened at customs?

regardless, I would be sending it back, and amazon would be footing the bill.

I'm sorry, I'll try to fix the link right away. So they pay for the shipping and everything? Because as long as I get a completely new one for free, I don't care if it takes some time to get back.

Edit: Imgur link should work now. Take a look at the pictures and see if I'm not crazy.

Upon closer inspection it seems like the scratches are on the inside of the plastic. There doesn't appear to be any scratches on top, only under. They are kind of hard to see if you're not in the right light, but when I put a flashlight on top of the plastic, the scratches become very visible. You can both see and feel that the scratches are on the inside or at least on the other side of the plastic. Here's some pictures: http://imgur.com/a/D1mPc#0. seems really weird to me, but could someone tell me if this is normal? Everyone in my family is trying to convince me that the product is not used, but I can't get rid of the feeling that it might be used.

New stick is on the way. They responded to me rather quickly and sent a new one right away, which is nice. Wouldn't have had to deal with this if they had just sent me a new one to start with, but the customer service helped so I guess I'm happy. Let's just hope that they don't send me a product that is in a even worse condition.
