I've recently been looking into to switching form my current phone (Iphone 5c) to the OnePlus Two. While i will miss iMessage, all the features of android just excite me. So with that said, If i was to buy the phone today, is it as simple as switching over my sim card to the Two and having it work with my carrier (Verizon)? Or is that not allowed due to contracts that i have with the cell company? I was hoping to buy the phone around October this year, but my contract isn't up until July of 2016. Also, does anyone know if OnePlus will restock the 16 gig version of the phone? All that is left on the site is the 64 gig variant which is simply doesn't make sense to me and will cost more. Thanks to all that respond :)

I'm pretty sure they will restock the 16GB version at some point.

You should be able to simply switch your sim and everything should work fine, but I'm not sure if there could be a problem with your carrier, cause I don't live in North America.

Here in Germany it wouldn't be a problem at all.

You have to check that the cell phone bands that the phone uses are compatible with your carrier. If they are, then you can use the phone. If they're not, then you're out of luck.

You'll have to figure that part out on your own. The bands are listed on OnePlus's website, and you'll likely have to contact or search to find out what Verizon uses in your area.

There's no contractual issue. You have to pay off your old phone regardless, so they don't really care what you're using.

Haha, unfortunately you can't just go out and buy a OnePlus Two. They have that horrible invite system, and currently with the wait list they have you'll be waiting an awfully long time before you get your hands on one. I was heavily active in the forum for the OnePlus One, and it still took almost 5 months before I got an invite from them.

They ramped up production this time, yes, but there's also way more demand.

They basically focus solely on the 64gb model. The 16gb model is more of an after thought, and I don't believe they produce those until demand for the 64gb model dies down.

They do, after all, make quite a bit more off of the 64gb model.

Last year I think the 16gb model came out much, much later in production runs.

Personally I'd be looking at the Motorola X Style. At least you'll be able to buy that one.

It won't work with Verizon, since, although they do now accept unlocked phones, they have to be CDMA compatible. The one plus two only runs on GSM networks, so you would have to switch to T-Mobile or AT&T and get a new GSM sim from them (Since they are GSM networks - Sprint is CDMA)

If you did that, you could then pop your Sim into any other GSM compatible phone and be good to go.

Heyyo,

NOTE! 3G will work on Verizon, just not 4G LTE in all spots due to Verizon using LTE bands 2, 4 and 13.

us-wireless-bands.png

OnePlus 2 on 4G supports:

https://oneplus.net/2/specs

GSM: 850, 900, 1800, 1900MHz

WCDMA: Bands 1/2/4/5/8

FDD-LTE: Bands 1/2/4/5/7/8/12/17

Note the lack of band 13. AT&T and T-Mobile would work perfectly on 4G LTE with the OnePlus 2.
