Sony Vegas Pro 12 Problem

Hi guys,

 

I've recently been using Sony Vegas Pro 12 and I've stumbled upon a problem with it that doesn't exist in Sony Vegas Pro 10 (of which I have been using). The problem is in relation to the border video effect (located under Video FX tab). I tend to like to use the border Video FX effect when I'm shrinking and cropping my HD video picture (like those effects you see on news programmes). When I create this effect in SVP 10 there isn't a problem but when I attempt to do it in SVP 12 it doesn't do it quite right. Not sure if it's a bug or a setting I'm missing but to give you some idea of what I'm talking about I'll post a picture to illistrate it.

 

 

This is using the border Video FX plugin in Sony Vegas Pro 10 and 12. As you can see when I attempt to add a border after using the pan and crop tool to crop the video to a different aspect ratio the border doesn't adjust to the correct dimensions in SVP 12 as it does in SVP 10. Not sure why this is happening but would like to fix it if I could.

whats the main issues with vegas pro 12, I have it but I don't want to spend a lot of time learning if its buggy garbage

The only issue I've found is the one I've mentioned above. SVP 12 is 95% fine.

I have issues with rendering failing, maybe you just have to create a custom border and pan it with the image, although that sounds like a pain in the ass

Hmm....rendering issues, that sucks. Well it looks like I'll have to use SVP 10 when I want to do that particular thing (mentioned above).

I guess, I never had rendering issues with Vegas 10 either. I might have to go back. Plus I like the vegas 10 icon better

Yeah I like the SVP 10 icon better as well. Maybe we just have to wait until Sony Vegas Pro 14 until most of the bugs are fixed.

I bought Premiere and all that a while ago. I think I'll be switching to that soon enough

I haven't really had much hands on with it. There are a lot more features and everything that is done in vegas seems to take an extra step in premiere. It seems to be more keyframe based which is something I don't like so much. I like having the ability to hit control or whatever and speed up/slow down footage and things like that which is why I prefer Vegas. But the rendering problem is too mcuh, I kind of have to go premiere. it's a lot more polished

I like having things. What can I say, I also don't like trials or pirating. I kinda had to buy it. Also, I know people at Universities who work heavily with it and got a cheaper price from them
