My friend is finally doing his own build, ive been helping him choosing bits an bobs, but since its a somewhat of a budget build were stuck on some decisions about the CPU/Cooler

(We're from Latvia so the choice of stores is quite limited)

The page we order from is only in Latvian so.. ill link the part pages

Coolers:

http://www.1a.lv/datoru_komponentes/coolers

CPUs:

http://www.1a.lv/datoru_komponentes/procesori

Cases:

http://www.1a.lv/datoru_komponentes/datoru_korpusi

So finally the problem:

We cant decide between:

4690s and 212 EVO

or a

G3258 OC and a top tier water cooler

Since the budget is still there, the case also has to be cheap (also later planning to get a H440), but its quite difficult to find a cheap case that fits either cooler...

Just woke up so sorry if the text is a bit off, but thanks in advance.

please do not choose a different cpu because u cant afford cooling... stick with the better cpu and buy a better cooler later... sticking with stock settings cant hurt u see

short said 4690k , dont waste money on a g3258 when u can get a 4690k ( especially if cooling is ur reason.... )

Thats a 4690s.

A 4690k is a bit over budget, even if using the stock cooler..

go a little bit over the budget and go K. worth it trust me u will not regret it in the future or when u get proper cooling later ( coz the non k it wouldnt matter if u had better cooling or not coz u cant overclock anyways )

Get the best CPU you can, the cooler can come later. The S variant's are weaker, low power versions of the regular chip, so the aftermarket cooler wouldn't even be slightly necessary.

I would recommend either a 4460, 4690(regular) or 4690k. the 4460 appears to be functionally identical to the 4690s, just produces a little bit more heat.

Regarding case, well the S340, the H440's cheaper brother, will also fit it, (with only 2mm to spare mind you)

Aftermarket 980Ti >= Fury X >= Reference 980Ti > Fury > 980 > 390X > 390 >= 970 380X > 380 >= 960 > 950 >= 370 > 750Ti = 360

"The Orange Box" || CPU: i5 4690k || RAM: Kingston Hyper X Fury 16GB || Case: Aerocool DS200 (Orange) || Cooler: Cryorig R1 Ultimate || Storage: Kingston SSDNow V300 240GB + WD Black 1TB || PSU: Corsair RM750 || Mobo: ASUS Z97-A || GPU: EVGA GTX 970 FTW+

"Unnamed Form Factor Switch" || CPU: i7 6700K || RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury 16GB || Case: Phanteks Enthoo Evolv Mini ITX (White) || Cooler: Cryorig R1 Ultimate (Green Cover) || Storage: Samsung 850 Evo 1TB || PSU: XFX XTR 550W || Mobo: ASUS Z170I Pro Gaming || GPU: EVGA GTX 970 FTW+

NZXT are quite rare here... Would be really grateful if you had a look at the link i provided and looked for a case fitting a 212 there
