Indigo xtreme vs coollaboratory liquid ultra

Liquid ultra for a CPU die and indigo for the IHS or like I suggested before, mx-4

dont even touch the stuff if you dont know lol :P 

 

ICD is perfect for IHS's, not great for a bare die. MX4 works in a pinch if you have a bare die to cover and no CLU.

Oh yeah, make sure liquid ultra doesn't touch anything aluminium. Like CPU heatsinks

I would avoid indigo xtreme unless you want the very best performance.

 

Indigo xtreme is applied by putting it on the cpu and then turn off the cooler. Go into prime 95 let your temps go to 100c then once the temps drop and stay that way you can return on the cooler.Once the compund is applied it will leave an almost unremovable layer.

I know this is an old thread but I must protest. It's easy to peal off with the new packaging it comes in. Pull the corner of the blue plastic by the CPU triangle and it (usually) comes off easy in one layer.

That was certainly a deterrent from getting it so i'm glad that they fixed it. I still wouldn't use it since I don't the temp difference
