Hey guys, I was just wondering if anyone knows where I could find a rundown of GPU benchmarks at 1440p.

I am getting a new monitor and so I would like to get a new GPU too. I am looking for the best price - performance at 1440p.

Any help is good help, thanks.

What's your budget? It really depends on that. Otherwise I'll just say 7990 :D

GTX 660/760 should do GPU wise but I think it's the memory which you need to look into, I think people say you need around 3/4GB though I don't really know.

2gb will handle 1440p fine for this gen, he might want a bit more if he wants to future-proof it.

Ahh cool and also 'future proof', didn't think that there was any such thing as that?

lol, I'm not looking for a crossfire setup, Preferably a single gpu. If you can see my signature I'm running a 6990 now sooooo yeh. I'm not exactly happy with its performance.

Have you checked out the new 13.8 drivers?

Yep, installed them straight away and they actually decreased my performance in BF3... I'm not too sure what that's about, this will probably be fixed when the full driver release is out.

7970 will be your best bet until 9970. it has a wide memory bus with 3gb. the 780 beats it most times but for price to performance you cant beat 7970

780 x1 will drive your current gen games. But soon you will need to add another 780 if you wish to play 1440p maxed out.

Go for 780 Gigabyte Windforce 3x OC card, best 780 price to cooler effectiveness and you got 3 years of guarantee.

So... If Jesus had the gold, would he buy himself out instead of waiting 3 days for the respawn?

On of my frind was going to buy an Asus PCI sound card instead of the PCIe version because it was a few *unit of currency* cheaper :D That's decently not future proofing.

Well he'll be fine with this generation of games, but vram usage is obviously going up and now that the next gen consoles are coming, games are definitely going to start using 3-4+ gb of vram, so if he wants to make his card last more than a year or so he should definitely invest in a 4gb card.

im running a 7970, and the 3GB should be enough, i can play crysis 3 at ultra on 1440p, and pretty good fps too, haven't played that high res for a while, it was a clients monitor and i was just testing it, but if you want...go with a 780 since its a cheaper titan.

GTX 660/760 should do GPU wise but I think it's the memory which you need to look into, I think people say you need around 3/4GB though I don't really know.

Why would you want to get the 660?

PC Specs:  2x GTX 550 ti in SLI - Intel i7 2600k @ 3.4Ghz - Thermaltake Overseer Case - 8 GB Corsair Vengeance Ram - 1TB Harddrive - 500 Watt PSU that came with my old prebuilt pc lawl -  ASUS P8P67 EVO

Peripherals:  Razer Deathadder Black Edition - Razer Arctosa Keyboard - Logitech G53 Headset

Cool song of the day: Chief Keef - Round da Rosey    Changed my profile pic again...                                        Mountain Dew is good. So are video games and music. Oh and unicorns.

I was just throwing numbers out, also might be an older gen but still a damn good video card.

The 7850 is better than the 660 and is so cheap right now. The 660 is currently not a good option unless CUDA is absolutely required.

Yeh maybe but it would be a downgrade from my 6990.
