GPU Question

Hello guys and girls , I am helping one of my friends with his PC build , he's planning to do gaming on his 1080p monitor while recording to post on youtube and livestreaming on twitch in the future . I want to make a choice between R9 390 and GTX 970 . I know that the advantage of R9 390 are the 8GBs of VRam and that it's a little bit stronger than the GTX 970 while the 970 has a tad lower power consumption and is 2 degrees cooler . So my question is , will Shadowplay make the GTX 970 be the better choice for him since he plans to record ? Or will the Raw power of the R9 390 still make it pull ahead ?

Get an R9 390 and just use OBS to record, assuming he has an i5 or better as far as processor goes.

Well I plan to pair the GPU with an i5 4460. And 290X is kind of impossible to get anymore ...

Yeah, you should be good using OBS then. It's free and allows you to record and broadcast game footage. Great piece of software. R9 390 for the win!

I don't think that a Xeon fits in the budget + I can't find that version in  my country.

Wow, a 290 is so much cheaper and performs a tad bit worse. If you find one I would get a 290 or a 290x.
