HELP PC WONT TURN ON OR POST

hey guys,  so I had my pc off for a couple hours now it wont turn on.  when I unplug and replug the motherboard green led comes on for a minute or two then goes out.   when I reset again and try to turn pc on the fans spin for a second then the cpu indicator light, lights up red and then pc turns off. ive looked online but everything seems to be the light staying solid, mine just turns off after 2-3 seconds.

I have an i7 3770k and a sabertooth z77 mobo.

please I need help and any and all I will try.

Might be the power supply...

I never thought of that, i guess i could try tearing apart my crappy living room pc and try swapping power supplies see if that helps, but if its not the power supply, any other suggestions.

Pick up a decent power supply from EVGA or Cooler Master or Corsair when you've got the cash.

yeah, im gunna bring it over to my buddies place and try his psu 1st as I don't have a second one with 8pin cpu power and I wont have the cash for a while as I just got laid off :(   but thanks for everyones help, even though its crappy I hope its the psu and not the mobo
