pretty sick for a first build tho since you dont have cpu cooler i assume you wont overclock? if thats the case then you could get like xeon 1231v3 or locked i7 and get 980ti and cheaper h91 mobo that has everything you want

Oh i forgot to say that i'm going to use a full water cooling system.

Get a Z87-pro they are 86$ and so much better then that board.

Thanks, but did you try it by yourself? or any friend of yours? give me an extra information about it if you can, thanks in advance.

Which one did you mean? the z8z or z97? i'm confused :S

i think youre good to go but for gaming anything above 8gb of ram is waste of money, maybe get a better psu so you can sli later on if need be?

But very good build nonetheless

Yes i'm getting this build mainly for gaming and thank you for the advice, actually i'm going to make it 8gb.

I don't think i'm going to do a sli or crossfire, one will be enough for me to play (csgo, gtav, skyrim). if it's not enough to play them on a decent fps tell me what i can do, and i'm going to play them on 1080p.

@MrHenry To be honest i don't think i'm going to overclock it and i will check the motherboard you've mentioned. Thanks.

You don't need a "K" series CPU if you're not going to overclock :) it basically stands for an unlocked CPU so you can overclock it. Going with a different CPU would be cheaper :) Im also using a GTX 980 and they're really powerful for 1080p gaming. Constant and steady 60fps on the most demanding titles with very high graphical settings.

Check out 4 way optimization, it's a awesome 1 click overclocking tool.

@MrHenry i know that the "K" stands for overclocking, but i'm looking for i7 4790 4.0GHz i've been told that there is i7 4790 4.0GHz without the k, but i can't find it anywhere on amazon, newegg to check the prices, so is there any i7 4790 4.0GHz for real?

@Sam Z Man i'm not going to overclock btw, but i'll check it maybe i will change my mind who knows.

You don't have to, you click a button and let the motherboard do it's thing, then after 15 minutes the motherboard has a dialed in overclock that's specific to your system.

If you're getting a custom water loop then I would definitely recommend overclocking! :D The Gigabyte z97x-gaming 5 is perfect for overclocking, the GTX 980 overclocks like a beast and on top of that you could easily overclock that CPU. I overclocked my i5 4690K from 3.9ghz to 4.5ghz without a single problem and as long as you don't raise voltage too much, everything will work perfectly normal with a solid performance boost.

BTW, are you getting a game bundle with your Zotac 980?

Maybe i will do an overclock it's awesome, so i could get the best of my build. And i don't really think i am getting the game bundle because of my parts supplier, to be honest i don't know what are you talking about, i heard that you get a batman arkham with it or something like that.

Can you get the Zotac 980 from some other store with similar prices? Nvidia is currently giving Metal Gear Solid Phantom Pain with new cards.

it won't let you set adaptive voltage for you vring and cache ratio. the offset settings don't work in the bios

I haven't heard of this either? What do you mean exactly? :) purely interested, because I overclocked my 4690K with that particular motherboard :P

No problem! Who wouldn't want a free game :P

Then i might get z97 series from Asus or ASrock since they are cheaper even from my part supplier not a big difference in the price but still, i will take it under consideration. Thanks for the heads up mate.

BTW, are you planning on playing in 1080p or 1440p? :) If you're going to play in 1080p I can give you some benchmarks from some of the newer games.
