Thank you this a is a massive help

Hey guys,

So for my build I been leaning in to the AMD 8350FX 8 core processor for my build because of its price and performance I have seen on videos when they review this.

But on my last post people keep saying to go Intel i5 4460 because its better, but from what ive seen in videos and reveiws the AMD CPU is better.

So what are the pros and cons of each? Is there a better card that I can get without blowing out my wallet? Which one out of the two cards would you recommend?

Im most likely going to be playing games, and every now and than a video.

Please be biase, and not a fangirl/boy of one of these cards.

The AMD CPU is much slower for gaming.

You must have seen the wrong reviews.

PROS on AMD:

well they atleast try it next year with ZEN.

I've never tried an AMD cpu, I've always gone with intel. If your mainly gaming, I don't think it will make much of a difference.

My Build: i7-4790K, 212 Evo, Asus Maximus VI Extreme, Crucial Ballistix Sport 16GB DDR3-1600, Intel 730 240GB SSD, WD Blue 1TB, EVGA GTX 980Ti ACX 2.0, NZXT H440 Blue/Black, EVGA 650W 80+Gold.

Most of the time, it's not the computer, it's the person using it.

The 8350 has horrible single thread performance. Your gonna want an i3-4170 instead.

it depends how powerful your graphics card is gonna be and which games you play.

When all the cores are being used fully, the 8 core amd and 4 core intel have about the same total processing power, but most programs, and particularly games don't use that many cores, so the i5 will generally perform better. Intel has more than twice the performance per clock/core right now.

Cause like I have seen quite a few that compares these too today and I mean i feel like it can out perform it

im going to be running a EVGA GTX 970 SSC GPU
