Hey I was wondering what websites are good to learn code as a beginner as well as what type of languages I should be learning. I'm currently using khanacademy to learn javascript, but they seem to lack certain languages for future learning.

Planning on taking Computer science courses this semester & will probably change my major to it. Just wanting to get a feel for it all prior to it.

If you're going to be doing CS, find out what language they use and learn that. Where you learn will depend on the language.

I think my school teaches C++, but I'm unsure. Is there no point in learning languages outside the one they teach?

Sure, you can do that. Knowing how to program before you do a class that teaches you how to program should help make that class easier. However learning the exact language they are going to be teaching beforehand should be another step towards making it even easier.

It's funny that you summon our gods here. I wonder if they might have ever been inclined to try their hands at our trade... perhaps this question warrants a thread :)

- Hallowed are the followers of Linus

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place.

I'm not sure about Linus, but I'm pretty sure Luke has some programming experience.
