PSU for future SLI\Crossfire

Hello everyone ,

 

how many watts\efficiency do i need for a Z87 build with 760 SLI \ 7950crossfire?

 

I'm planning on getting a single GPU first and going dual later on.I was thinking of getting a 750W 80+Bronze PSU, like Corsair TX750m or OCZ ZT750. Do i need to get 850 Watts or Gold\Plat efficiency?I'm trying to save to save up as much money as i can, but don't want to get a cheap\inadequate PSU and end up frying everything

I would go for 850W and an 80+ Gold PSU. Maybe the Corsair AX 860i.

I would suggest a 750W or higher, like the TX750m you suggested. Do not buy a power supply that doesn't have an 80+ certification.

I've tried the Asus and the eXtreme one, and if i remember correclty the result is about 800-900W.I think they exaggerate a bit, since you don't want to top off your PSU,but i've seen many people reccomending 750W bronze PSU for simillar builds

You can power your system on a quality 650w regardless of efficiency, so 750w is indeed more than enough and even overkill.

 

If you want us to provide any start of recommendation to you, it would be helpful to know your budget and what state/country you are from.

XFX P1-750B-BEFX 750W or the SeaSonic G-750 SSR-750RM are good choices for your psu.
