Quick Question about my loop....

Go to solution Solved by W-L,

So, I finished building my computer in about mid June, and I've had no problems. I have a 5820K, Strix 980, 16gb crucial ballistix, and everything is in a nice little wc custom loop. I've oced my cpu to about 101.2 bclk, and I have the mutliplier to x40. When I ran prime95, I see temps rise to about 60 and stay there. Then, after about another 30 minutes, temps would rise up to 80 and stay there, sometimes hitting 85, but not over 85. Could anyone tell me what's happening and if it's normal? The full specs of my computer are on my profile.

Sounds normal, the initial jump temps are the CPU under load and while the water and fluid heats up it reaches equilibrium in the system with the amount of cooling and heating provided by the loop and components.

One thing don't use Prime 95 when stress testing the way it provides the stress test raises voltages higher than it normally operates at, a better program to use is Adia 64.
