Quick question about installing OS

Go to solution Solved by techguru,

hdd to a hdd

heres what you wanna do then

backup your stuff to one of the hdds

install the os to the new drive on a clean install

and then once done..put the old drive in the new pc and copy your important data to the new drive

So I cloned my old HDD to the new one in my current PC, but when I start installing the OS there are two choices, Upgrade and Custom/Clean Install. If I were to choose Clean install would it literally just wipe my HDD that I just cloned lol. If yes am I going to have to take out my HDD and backup it up the original source is gone?

I dont really understand.  But, if you clone your drive you dont need to install the os on it.  If thats the case. Just back up all your files and then install the os on the drive and restore them.
