Hey, I am going to build a new pc, I am planning to get an i5 6600k and I already have a ASUS strix gtx970, I will also be overclocking the i5. Am I meant to get a power supply around 500-600w? If so, could someone recommend me a good one as I have no idea which ones are good, preferably a modular one. I was thinking of maybe getting the corsair cx 600w v2 power supply.

Thanks

corsair psus suck.

The best psu brand in my opinion is EVGA they gave 7-10 year warranty and best customer support. Other good brands are coolermaster, seasonic,,,,

I would recommend the evga gs 550 or the coolermaster vsm 550. Anything 500+ watts gold rated to be honest

Corsair is not really good with cheap PSUs but also now awful. I'd say EVGA Supernova NEX650G or Corsair RM650.

Check out the PSU whitelist in my sig for some good PSUs. CX600 should be avoided.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

Avoid the CX series like the plague for a gaming pc.

Go with a PSU that is Seasonic or Super Flower built. Anything in tiers 1-2 would work great on this list:
