I have always experienced 1-2 second lag spikes in every game, but especially CS:GO. Especially after a round ends, i'm getting a spike of 1 to 2 seconds. This is starting to be really irritating.

The components in my computer are all pretty new, such as the CPU, GPU, Motherboard etc. The only thing that is old that I can think of is my PSU & HDD.

Is there a possibility that it's my HDD that's causing the lag spike?

My CPU = i7 4790k & GPU = GTX 970, and I always run on 300fps..

I just don't really know how I can track this problem. Any suggestions on what I can do is welcome.

Thanks!

What OS, if Win10, what drivers are you using, default or Nvidia's? Is vertical sync off? Is maximum pre-rendered frames set to 1? If you think its your HDD, run a chkdsk, not a chkdsk /f, I want to know if you have bad sectors.

Ah.. just a CS:GO thing. Always when i'm in a 1vs1 i'm getting that lag and I just have to pray that I win lol.

But thanks, i'll narrow my search down to CS:GO. Glad that it's not one of my components then :)

Unless your ping is bad, then nothing is wrong, otherwise I'd worry.

It's completely blown out of proportion. Also if you're the least bit worried about data gathering then you should go live in a cave a 1000Km from the nearest establishment simply because every device and every entity gathers information these days. In the current era privacy is just fallacy and nothing more.
