these are the cards i am looking at wanted to know which is better and which you recomend

I would probably get a 280 for that extra 1GB but that's just me

285.

285 is faster than the 280 but the 280 does have 1gb more vram. I'm not perfectly sure how big to performance difference between the 280/285 but even at 1080 the extra 1gb frame buffer will help for being able to turn up more and more settings and just be able to keep playing as games use more and more as games get more memory intensive.

Neither get a 280x, the 285 Only a tad better than the 280
