Problems using a TV as an HDMI monitor

Hello,

Ever since I build my computer a few years ago I've been using an oldish 1050p Samsung TV as a monitor, and it worked fine. A little while ago I tried hooking up some other TVs to my computer without any luck. Yesterday I did this again, and now my old Samsung doesn't even work. The only way I can use it is with an analog display port to vga adapter. This results in a stretched 4:3 resolution which gives me a headache. While working over vga, I tried hooking up my old tv via hdmi and tried to set up multiple displays, but my graphics card didn't detect it, and it was working less than an hour before!

I have an Asus GTX 770, and an Asus Z77-VLk motherboard. Does anyone know why this could happen?

Scamscum?

my Samsung phone pissed me off so much I hate the company now. I must admit that my syncmaster 204b displays that I sold were friggin awesome. But Samsung turned into scamscum for me...
