How is this ssd?

Plenty fast. What makes a ssd feel snappy is the random read speed and the memory controller--both things in which the Samsung 840 is great.

I have one myself if it means anything.

What do you guys think? is it good is there something that is way better? btw I will be running it off a sata 2 slot.

well it could bottleneck, you might not notice a major difference but you might want to consider getting a new motherboard if you are getting such a high end ssd.

No, it really won't make any difference to general use, SATA2 only becomes a bottleneck when copying and pasting very large files but it won't affect your general experience with Windows or programs.

Or the Sandisk Extreme II http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820171751

They got very consistent performance, which the Corsair Neutron GTX also has but the SanDisk slightly better

Just get a Samsung 840. It's cheaper and you can't really notice the difference.
