Swiftech MCP655 G1/4 Threaded Special Edition

Purchased from Performance PCS

Awesome pump. Been using it for a dual GPU and CPU build for probably 6 months. The threads are now torn up. Ive seen people saying to sand them down. What are my options other than buying the XSPC photon in my cart on Amazon? The threads are quite long so I may try finding a long thread at a hardware store that comes out to a female g 1/4.

You can get a pump top to replace the stock one that's threaded, there isn't much that can be done.

Will this work? Is that all I need? And can I screw that Primochill res into the top of that ek one just cause?

Probably won't fit, my understanding is they are made specificly so if you buy a EK Top you have to use EK Parts with it (except for fittings).

edit: lol so swiftech also rebrand the D5 pump only they don't call it a D5, that's so confusing >_<

Yes it will work with the D5 pump just make sure it comes with the mounting ring, and no the primochill res doesn't work like that, it cannot mount onto the ekwb stuff, you need a new primochill res that has the pump mounting option if you want to use their stuff.

EDIT: this is the D5 option for primochill:

So I found one on amazon. Can I use the res in that picture and replace the white POMS, so I don't have to have purple in my color scheme?

You can I believe they also sell the parts separately so you can purchase that specific part.

So there is literally only one on amazon. So if its out in a week, can I buy this pump top and use that adjustable fitting below the res to connect the pump top to it? Or just a male to male fitting?

It should be a male to male fitting I'd personally mount it with the bottom plate horizontal with a short length of tube but it shouldn't cause any problems.
