i3 Questions..

Hey guys, look, im REALLY indecisive about getting a new computer. Mainly the reason being is because i want two things, and i can only get one of them this week.

I have my build decided and all but i'm not sure if i should scrap the build and save up for a better one or if i should just buy it and save myself the hassle later on..

I've decided to go with the i3 due to my budget and i've youtubed the performance of both the CPU (i3 4160) and GFX and 8GB RAM (the gfx card i'll be getting is the 750ti) and in all honesty they do run the games hella fine. I'm not a heavy gamer so i don't play games like WoW, Battlefield, Witcher 3 etc, they're just not my type but the games that i do play MAINLY is Rocket League, CS:GO and League of Legends.

I want to run these games all maxed out and i know it's solely dependant on the GFX card, the only question i have is will the i3 be more than enough for a casual gamer like me? If anything the only other games that i will be playing is Assassins Creed (other likes of the genre) and all but i don't think i would and i do some light photoshop work, probably touch it once a week or two weeks at most.

I've been asking friends and they've been telling me to save up and just build a better computer but me myself knowing that i only play 3 games, 4 at max (minecraft probably) Personally think it may be a waste, but at the same time i'm doubting the fact that it would be a waste. I just want to be backed up and reassured and see what you guys have to say as this is an actual forum for computers, no matter what it relates to.

I just want to know, would i3 be enough for me? Especially to run those 3 games at max settings?

I'm depending and deciding on what you guys say, i'm really bad at picking what i want.

I think if you are not gonna upgrade CPU before mobo swap then go for Athlon X4 860K!

If you are gonna upgrade CPU later then you may save up some cash on buying the Pentium!

My brother bought an i3 for q budget build and he regrets it. My i5 of the same generation smashes his i3. But it does not put out nearly as much heat. The stock cooler is fine (no overclocking) but an i5 needs a better cooler such as a 212 evo

Everyone has a certain cpu generation for certain purposes.

I just see i3 as a perfect fit since im just a casual gamer and surfs the web, watches youtube and netflix etc but i just want to be sure that im making the right choice.

Then I think you are fine with the i3 and if you need to or want to down the road throw in an i5 or i7. I use my computer for the same tasks you appear to do and I will say though that my FX 6300 was a great purchase over the i3 mainly because I can take advantage of the 2 extra cores in basic video editing. I also paired it with a 650 ti and I am not disappointed with gaming performance at all in CS:GO, GTA V, ect. I would say up to you but if you don't plan on upgrading any time soon do the FX 6300 and vis versa
