Long lasting headphone recommendation.

dabagonsmith

Sometime soon I need to buy myself a new pair of headphones. I've had nothing but trouble with headsets, either the mic stops working, the left earcup goes out etc...and I take extremely good care of all of my stuff so it's not something that I am doing. I have/had a pair of razer carcharias most comfortable headset ever, I literally wore them about 12 hours straight with no discomfort, but after about 2-3 months the left ear cup went out, it was going in and out when I would wiggle or position the volume control box a certain way, but now the left cup is dead and I can't get any sound out of it. The mic still works so i'm just going to use that (not rolling in money) so I would like a good headphone recommendation.Ones that are comfortable and don't have a a built in volume control box, I don't really like those. Something around 50 bucks is about all I can do, I figure I should be able to get something decent enough for that price, then again I did pay 80 bucks for a headset that hasn't lasted me more than 3 months -_-

truth. an old roomate had an old v6 I think it was 6 or 7 years old.

for added repairability I'd look at something with a detachable cable. the only one that comes to mind in that price range is the akg 240

Koss Pro DJ100 seem like a good bet. If you want a more open design you could look at the Superlux HD668B, Panasonic HTF600 or Pioneer SE-A1000. All budget friendly.

They all look nice, I can't afford them though lol. From everything i've read about and seen my best is to get these http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826262249&Tpk=JVC%20HA-M5X

I'm also wanting a mic so i'm going to be getting this one, my friend has used it for a while and he said it works fine, he sounds very clear on skype too.http://www.amazon.com/Microphone-Computer-Laptop-Notebook-canceling/dp/B002KL0VY2/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1360337785&sr=8-10&keywords=microphone

Positional comfortable audios the tryed and true ath-ad700 are pretty freaking fantastic for 100$ there soft around and over the ear realy good for fps..... cons no noise cancelation and open so people can hear them besides yourself but after reading many reviews these are pretty much the bees nees of positional audio something about your ears liking the nonclosed off headphones to gives your ears a more organic-ish simulated 3d postional audio in game.

ever since i bought them i usualy end up almost jumpin out of my chair thinkin someone whispering something behind me.. not so bad anymore but definately ups my killdeath ratio in bf3 with my old set up i was lucky to get 35 kills and 20 deaths... with new monitor and tweaking extra fps and the asus xonar and ad700s im getting 3-8 deaths for every 30-60 kills with sumwhat descent backup but none on voice chat.

for movies and music a closed ear speaker is better for bass but unless your an audiophile n hafta have a second pair for movies these will do fine just tweak the eq a lil for movies..

the mids and secondly the highs are where these things realy shine in positional audio so dont crank the bass up for games itll just do you a disservice n ruin ur eardrums

+1 for the ad700 I love them for FPS shooters however they are out of his price range...

it's actually a good list of stuff there. except for the skull candy stuff.

also the reloop and especially the numark redwave don't get much coverage but I wouldn't mind owning one of them

ebay link in case you are stateside

Quite a few suggested are under $50, do you need the headphone and mic for $50 or just the headphone?

A really cheap but good one are these http://www.amazon.com/Monoprice-MHP-839-Premium-Hi-Fi-Headphone/dp/B007SP2CO2/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1360402483&sr=8-2&keywords=panasonic+htf600

I've had bad experiences with headsets (headphones with built in mic). I want to get headphones and a mic seperately, i've found a good mic, not entirely sure on what headphones to get, my budget is 50 bucks for the both of them, which leaves me with about 35 bucks for headphones.

Could go with the Panasonic HTF600 or Monoprice 8323 on Amazon then. I would go with Monoprice as most reviews say they are very rugged.

Hmm, the monoprice 8323 don't look too bad, it's between those and these right now. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826262249&Tpk=JVC%20HA-M5X

I wouldn't get the JVC explosives had them for three days decided to take them back, because of the multiple headaches I got from the mounting pressure on the head.

Iv'e heard lots of good things about the monoprice ones tho.

How big is your head? I have a fairly small head so I don't know if it would be an issue with me, I'm probably going with the monoprice's though,

koss porta pros feel better built than the monoprice, and they sound a little better too imo.

Will work for electronic components and parts

I currently have a Shure SRH440, but it's more for mixing music and that kind of thing, but I think it would work fine. Its about 100 dollars.
