Problem With my 2nd Storage Drive

Go to solution Solved by Godlygamer23,

Installing to your SSD does allow the system to boot and run faster. In order to use your hard drive, you must format it using a third party program or Disk Management.

I just built a brand new gaming PC, for the first time. I installed Windows 8.1 into it. When I booted up Windows 8.1, I chose it to install in my SSD, (Crucial BX100 250GB SSD.), because I thought it decrease the time it takes to start up Windows on a daily basis (Can someone actually tell me if that is true?). Also, right after I booted Windows 8.1, It gave me the option to choose my SSD or HDD (WD Green 2TB HDD). After exploring Windows 8.1 and looking through my PC Settings and such, I saw only by SSD and Optical drive only showed up, not my HDD. So the problem is my HDD won't show up, and I can't install anything to it, I have to use my SSD for installing things, which is bad. Someone please help me add my HDD. Thanks.

P.S. Sorry for lots of useless info I just thought it would be important.  Feel free to ask me questions in order to help me find and answer.

(Running out of space, plz help meh.)

As you can see in the screen shots, only the SSD and optical drive shows up.

That's usually part of the process.

Hey there,

As @Godlygamer23 explained, new drives need to be initialized, partitioned and formatted before they are used. Disk Management is the easiest way to do it. :)
A SSD provides very short access times and higher transfer speeds compared to HDDs and thus decrease loading and boot times significantly. You can check your BIOS for options that can enable even faster boot times.
