I have a custom loop with only distilled water in it. I am moving in a couple days from south Dakota to Nevada. My PC will be in a moving truck along with all my other stuff. Should I drain the loop using a shop vac before moving it to avoid any possible vibration induced leaks or would the lack of water cause deposits or something?

I would drain it, but don't use a shop vac. Just let it drain into a bowl or drain.

Not only would i drain the loop but i would also remove the GPU and any other PCIe components so as to ensure nothing breaks during the many bumps the truck will go over.

A water-cooled mid-tier gaming PC.

I would uninstall the hardware completely to avoid even further complication.

It depend on the system, as some setups handles moving better then others (horizontal mounted motherboards takes it much better then vertical once).

Also, you dont need to take it apart, just stuff the case with packing peanuts or something like that to prevent movement, then wrap the case with some bouble wrap and a few blankets. Plus something to keep it together.

And if someone is moving it for you, remember to mark it as fragile.

Well I did as suggested and not as suggested. I removed all the various bits and bobs but after draining them I used my shop vac to suck the rest of the water out to get them dry. I put the hdd, ram, gpu, and cpu waterblock in protective padding and antistatic bags (excluding the cpu waterblock) and all thats left in the case is the motherboard, power supply, and radiators. I will soon do the same with my two spare hexacore rigs.
