Tiny question about fan control

Hello guys,

I've got a small question about pc fans: Would plugging a pwm fan in a fan controller with voltage control do any harm to the pwm circuitry of the fan?

 

From my knowledge pwm uses an impulse method to send short 12v impulses to the fan thus making it much easier to fine control the rpm of the fan.

 

Would sending different voltage vallues to a fan cause any problem?

less voltage no, higher voltage possibly.

Thx bro. I just ghetto modded a 60mm fan on my mosfet heatsink cuz haswell 1.35+ vcore. All heil old stock amd heatsinks lel

its like any electrical thing bro, if you overvolt it, its either gonna blow up or break down, if you dont put enough voltage  in it will work but probably not aswell but in this case it will probably run fine.
