Cheap gaming CPU?

I am building a budget 300$ gaming PC. I am currently at a price of 245, without the CPU or motherboard, and will only slightly go above my budget. Also keep in mind that I will not be over locking a pentium, lots of suggestions but I'm trying to stay away from that. Also I would like a good socket that has plenty of other higher end CUPs so I can upgrade later on without changing my Mobo. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much guys

did you buy the motherboard yet, and I would really really save up for a 500 dollar budget... you really won't get anywhere on a 300 dollar build

But aye, even the shittiest CPU and MoBo are more than 55 dollar.

You can't get a CPU and motherboard for $60 let alone anything remotely not terrible.

The only think you can really get is an AM1 CPU / Board but it's definitely worth saving a bit more or buying used.

Yea the thing about the pentium is it basically has to be overclocked and I'm not gonna do that. I might just switch the motherboard and CPU to intel way farther down the road maybe to get an i7

This is probably the best you can do if can save up for more, also Haswell will be off the market by the time you probably upgade, Im not sure about your income but it you want to game now... go with this. 

 

The 860k is not that bad of a processor. It will get you 1080p 60fps at max.

hd 7950 for 95 on ebay

8gb ram from newegg on sale for 40

 

$320

 

then all you have to do is scrap together a case,hard drive and power supply and thos can be salvaged or found dirt cheap.

 

this setup will play all games 1080p high-ultra settings at very good framerates.
